There was a time when research papers contained a description of the process that led to the major results published in the paper. The reason for including this process was the realization that the reader will learn much from the trials and errors experienced by the author(s). It is unfortunate that the editors of modern scientific journals insist on the deletion of this information in order to minimize the page number. This gives the impression that the author(s) knew from the very start of their investigation how to approach the problem, apply the most effective experimental methods etc.
There is a need to document the inevitable trials and errors suffered by most researchers before arriving at the successful final results. It is the objective of these NOTES to provide examples of studies that were conducted by AHRTA research associates. They are published to document interim results and conclusions obtained in the pursuit of AHRTA’s goal to contribute to the development of new renewable power generation systems.
The paper on “Design and Feasibility of an Oscillating Wing Wind Turbine for Wind Energy Generation” by Pranav Sanapala, Arjun Gupta, Arya Kanamathareddy of Dougherty Valley High School, San Ramon, California, submitted on 26 March 2025, originated from the students’ interest in renewable energy generation.
The paper on “Microwave Wireless Power Transfer between Moving Ships: A Technical Analysis” by M.J. Tanveer of the University of Sahiwal, Pakistan, submitted on 7 May 2026, originated from his interest in the energy ship concept.
